Perodua QV-E: Battery Leasing vs Full Purchase
The QV-E is sold in one specification, so there is no variant ladder to climb. The only choice is how you pay for the battery, and the two options are closer than the sticker prices suggest.

What the two plans actually cost
The battery lease is not open-ended. The Product Disclosure Sheet fixes it at RM215 a month for 108 months, after which the battery stays in use with nothing further to pay until its state of health drops below 70%. That changes the comparison.

The trade-off is ownership rather than money. Under the lease Perodua owns the battery and you hold the right of use, and you carry a fixed commitment for nine years. In exchange the state-of-health guarantee has no mileage cap, where Full Purchase is limited to 160,000 km.

How many variants does the Perodua QV-E have?
One. The QV-E is sold in a single specification, and the brochure's specification table has only one column. What you actually choose is how to pay for the battery: Battery-as-a-Service, where Perodua owns the battery and you lease it, or Full Purchase, where you own it outright. The car itself is identical either way.
What is the difference between QV-E BaaS and Full Purchase?
Price and battery terms, nothing else. BaaS is RM69,999 plus RM215 a month for the battery. Full Purchase is RM93,999 with no monthly lease. BaaS covers the battery for unlimited mileage at a minimum 70% state of health throughout the lease. Full Purchase covers it for 8 years or 160,000 km at the same 70% minimum. Both come with the 6-year or 150,000 km vehicle warranty.
Is the QV-E battery lease cheaper or more expensive in the long run?
Slightly cheaper. The lease is fixed at RM215 a month for 9 years, which is 108 payments totalling RM23,220. Added to RM69,999 that is RM93,219, against RM93,999 for Full Purchase. After the 9 years the payments stop and the battery stays in use with nothing further to pay until its state of health falls below 70%. The lease is not open-ended, which is the point most easily missed.
How long is the QV-E battery lease?
Nine years, or 108 months, starting from the vehicle delivery date. Three months of lease, RM645, is payable in advance and is set off against your final three months. The agreement uses the Shariah concept of Operating Ijarah, and Perodua remains the owner of the battery while you hold the right of use.
How far can the Perodua QV-E go on one charge?
370 km on the WLTP cycle, from a 52.5 kWh LFP battery. Perodua also quotes 445 km on the older NEDC cycle. Real range depends on speed, air-conditioning use, load and traffic.
How fast does the Perodua QV-E charge?
On DC via CCS 2 it accepts up to 60 kW and goes from 30% to 80% in about 30 minutes. On AC via Type 2 it charges at up to 6.6 kW, taking about 8 hours from 0% to 100%. A portable charging cable is included, and the car supports V2L for powering equipment from the battery.
Is the Perodua QV-E safe?
It carries a 5-star ASEAN NCAP rating, tested in November 2025. Six airbags are standard, along with the full Perodua Smart Drive Assist suite: forward collision warning, autonomous emergency braking, lane departure warning, lane keep assist, adaptive cruise control, highway assist, traffic jam assist, blind spot monitor and rear cross traffic alert, plus a 360 surround view monitor and front and rear parking sensors. Child presence detection and emergency SOS are also standard.
