Perodua A.S.A.: Which Variants Have It?
A.S.A. stands for Advanced Safety Assist, Perodua's camera-based active safety suite. It is not fitted to every variant. On some models it is standard across the range, on others it appears only on the top variant.

What A.S.A. does
A.S.A. uses a camera behind the windscreen to monitor the road ahead. When it detects a risk it warns the driver, and it can act on its own.
- Pre-collision warning when the gap to the vehicle ahead becomes too small
- Pre-collision braking, which can brake by itself if the driver does not react
- Front departure alert when the car ahead has moved off and you are still stationary
- Pedal misoperation control, which limits acceleration if the throttle is pressed in error while parking
Which variants have A.S.A.

If the model you want lists A.S.A. on every variant, active safety is no longer a reason to move up the range. You can choose a variant on comfort and infotainment alone.

Frequently asked questions
- Is A.S.A. the same as ADAS?
- The idea is the same, sensor-based active safety. A.S.A. is Perodua's name for it and uses a stereo camera. ADAS is the general term Proton uses, with a different feature list depending on the model.
- Can A.S.A. be retrofitted?
- No. It is part of the variant specification and involves the camera and the car's own braking system. If you want it, it has to be chosen at purchase.
- Does A.S.A. mean the car drives itself?
- No. It is an assistance system. The driver remains fully responsible, and the system has limits in heavy rain, fog or poor light.
