Proton ADAS: Which Models and Variants Have It?
ADAS is a driver assistance suite covering autonomous emergency braking, forward collision warning and adaptive cruise control. Across the Proton range it is not universal. Some models do not offer it at all, and on models that do it usually starts from the mid variant upward.

Features usually included in ADAS
The full list varies by model, but these are the features mentioned most often.
- Autonomous emergency braking, which brakes by itself to avoid a collision
- Forward collision warning, before the braking intervenes
- Adaptive cruise control, which holds a gap to the vehicle ahead
- Lane departure warning and lane keeping, when the car drifts without signalling
- Blind spot and rear cross traffic alerts
Which models and variants have ADAS
This table is generated directly from the variant data used on the comparison pages. Models where no variant offers ADAS are listed too, because that is equally worth knowing.
| Model | Variants with ADAS | Variants without ADAS |
|---|---|---|
| Proton Saga | Premium | Standard, Executive |
| Proton Iriz | None | Standard, Executive, Active |
| Proton Persona | None | Standard, Executive, Premium |
| Proton S70 | Flagship, Flagship X | Executive, Premium |
| Proton X50 | Premium, Flagship | Executive |
| Proton X70 | Premium | Executive |

| Proton e.MAS 7 | Prime, Premium, Premium Plus | None |
| Proton e.MAS 7 PHEV | Prime, Premium, Premium Plus | None |
What this means for your choice
If ADAS matters to you, it often decides the variant before it decides the model. On several Proton models ADAS exists on only one variant, so the real choice is that variant or no ADAS at all.
If it does not matter to you, the lower variants usually offer better value, because a large part of that price difference is the suite itself.
Frequently asked questions
- Does every Proton have ADAS?
- No. Several models in the current range do not offer ADAS on any variant. Refer to the table above, which is generated from each model's own variant data.
- Is ordinary cruise control the same as ADAS?
- No. Ordinary cruise control only holds a set speed. Adaptive cruise control within ADAS also maintains a gap to the vehicle ahead and can slow the car down.
- Is it worth moving up a variant just for ADAS?
- It depends on the kind of driving you do. For frequent long-distance highway driving, autonomous emergency braking and adaptive cruise control are among the features you notice most. For short urban trips the benefit is smaller.
