Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between Vios 1.5E and 1.5G?
1.5G adds adaptive cruise control, automatic high beam, automatic air-conditioning, auto rain-sensing wipers, telescopic steering adjustment, 17-inch alloy wheels (E uses 16-inch), an electronic parking brake and ambient lighting. Both share Toyota Safety Sense (AEB, FCW, LDW, BSM, RCTA), six airbags, LED headlamps, wireless CarPlay on a 9-inch screen, front and rear parking sensors and a 3D panoramic reverse camera, but 1.5E has manual air-con and no ACC.
What is the difference between Vios 1.5G and 1.5 HEV?
1.5 HEV swaps the petrol Super CVT-i for a hybrid e-CVT (90 PS engine plus 79 PS motor), adds dual-zone automatic climate control, auto start/stop, a 360° surround view camera (replacing the 3D panoramic reverse camera), a larger 10.1-inch wireless CarPlay screen and drops boot space from 475 L to 465 L. Both have ACC, AHB, auto wipers and Toyota Safety Sense. 1.5 HEV rides on 16-inch alloys like 1.5E rather than the G's 17-inch wheels.
What does Vios 1.5 HEV GR-S add over 1.5 HEV?
GR-S carries the same hybrid equipment as 1.5 HEV (ACC, 360° camera, dual-zone climate, 10.1-inch screen and Toyota Safety Sense) and adds GR Sport trim, GR Sport-tuned suspension and GR Sport interior accents. The price step is RM6,000 (RM109,900 vs RM103,900 on-the-road without insurance, Peninsular Malaysia, July 2026).
Does Vios 1.5E have adaptive cruise control?
No. Adaptive cruise control is standard on 1.5G, 1.5 HEV and 1.5 HEV GR-S only. 1.5E still has Toyota Safety Sense (AEB, FCW, LDW, BSM, RCTA) and hill-start assist, but no ACC or automatic high beam.
Which Vios variant has a 360° camera?
1.5 HEV and 1.5 HEV GR-S have a 360° surround view monitor. 1.5E and 1.5G have a reverse camera with 3D panoramic view instead, no 360° camera.
Which Vios variants have six airbags?
All four variants (1.5E, 1.5G, 1.5 HEV and 1.5 HEV GR-S) have six SRS airbags (front, side and curtain) as standard.
What features are standard across all Vios variants?
Every Vios shares Toyota Safety Sense (AEB, FCW, LDW, BSM, RCTA), six airbags, LED headlamps, smart entry with push start, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, front (2) and rear (4) parking sensors, ABS/VSC/TCS, hill-start assist, the same body dimensions (4,425/1,740/1,480 mm), 2,620 mm wheelbase and 40 L fuel tank.
